Carl,

I researched Lasik for about a year before jumping in.
All I can say is DO IT!

While I still use reading glasses for the IBD, I have no problem with night vision and have heard of a very small percentage that get worse at night vision than before the surgery.

I have heard reports that no-one in this country has gone blind as a result (however there is an eye doc here in Melbourne, FL that may be being sued for losing a patients "flap" which never should have been removed all the way to allow a "loss").

If you want to learn more just do an i-search for "Lasik."
After many, many calls and research, I chose a doc in Jacksonville, FL. He as been doing this about two years before anyone else in the US. He left his practice to work two years without pay to learn from the best in the world. A doctor in China. Then he practiced on his own outside of the US until it was approved here. He was asked to take part in first clinical tests, I understand.

Not to pump anyone but if you want to check him out, and I hope he doesn't mind my throwing his name around as much as I do, go to www.maidavision.com to learn more.

Noteworthy is the fact that most eye surgeons charge $4,000 to $4,400 while Maida charges $3,200.

The best, for less! I would never chose any eye doc for less money, but it was a nice extra perk. He gets patients from all over the US. I have clients in Minnesota flying to Jacksonville, FL to use him.
