Kap,

<Wow, looks like PIII prices are collapsing fast. I better hurry into an INTC short position tomorrow.>

FWIW, I closed my short this AM for a dollar loss. Niles report this AM says the ASPs will fall only $3 this Q and INTC has pull-ins due to Y2K issues that will boost 3Q.

He says because of the motherboard problems AMD is likely to do only 150-250k Athlons this Q. His take is that motherboard makers are waiting to see AMD performance and Intel is putting additional pressure by offering rebates and other goodies.

I think pull-ins are a bad sign for INTC in the current environment but I decided to sit-out and wait till it gets closer to earnings time - especially since the bulls are on the loose after the mild Fed tightening. I am on the bandwagon with some new MSFT - already up over a buck this AM.
