Chris, I'll look at WCII in a minute..

I will say that you must be a very BUSY bee, you have your eye on everything! I like to roam around myself, how do you find your companies? Do you hear tips from others on chat lines? Which ones to you use? Do you search for companies in particular fields? etc..

I came to a very powerful realization yesterday. I was at Blockbuster trying to rent a good movie and was amazed at the desire people have to get their hands on the new releases. It's getting worse and worse. At first it was people standing around waiting for the guy to get the tapes out of the drive-by box. Now, I seen people walking up to the guy AT the box and asking if he has any of the new releases! I'm not talking about teenagers, I see 60 year-old ladies doing this!

That confirmed what I was thinking. Right now we have Pay-per-view. That's OK but the movies are limited and you don't get them immediately. When the viewer is able to search through thousands of movies or download the newest release in approx. 2 minutes, THAT SUPPLIER WILL HAVE AN INCREDIBLE MARKET! - Cable I assume.

Every new technology needs a catalyst to make it happen. I believe instant access to thousands of movies will be the first step in cable. Do they download the entire movie to your set-top box. Will memory hold the picture. How long will it last, can you pause, can you record? The revenue Cable companies would receive from cable movies with unlimited access would be incredible, add in internet service and you have a real business plan! At $3.95 for movies and $29.95 per month for internet access if you sign up for a year, cable companies will do VERY WELL!

Another interesting event is going to take place very soon. More and more internet users are using their $20 unlimited access account to make LONG-DISTANCE phone calls! Intel's videoconferencing is another example. Once these devices become common, the long distance phone revenues are going to get squeezed. Say goodbye to any long distance phone charges over $20 per month! This will take time, but it's scaring the hell out of the telco's! How long before we see a simple device that transfers voice, not picture for $69.95?

THE BATTLE IS JUST BEGINNING!!

Aloha
