Mr. Jim Perry reports
Global Thermoelectric has received a purchase order for the second segment of
its solid oxide fuel cell project with Delphi Automotive Systems. The purchase
order, worth more than $1.3-million, will cover the next set of activities and
deliverables that Global will undertake in providing selected components for
Delphi's solid oxide fuel cell systems.
"We feel that it will be many years before we see a hydrogen infrastructure in
place and therefore new alternatives are required today," said Global president
and chief executive officer, Jim Perry. "The significant achievements that Global
has previously announced in running stationary solid oxide fuel cells on
hydrocarbon fuels make our fuel cell systems a front runner for transportation
applications." Mr. Perry also stated that, "Global is continuing to seek out strategic
partners in other industries as part of our long-term business strategy,"
Delphi Automotive Systems, with headquarters in Troy, Mich., is a world leader in
automotive component and systems technology. Delphi's three business sectors --
dynamics and propulsion; safety, thermal and electrical architecture; and
electronics and mobile communications -- provide comprehensive product
solutions to complex customer needs. Delphi has approximately 201,000
employees and operates 168 wholly owned manufacturing sites, 38 joint ventures,
51 customer centres and sales offices, and 27 technical centres in 37 countries.
Regional headquarters are in Paris, Tokyo and Sao Paulo. Delphi can be found on
the Internet at www.delphiauto.com.
