I currently have no intention of installing y2k bugs in any computer that I own. Have you tried installing on a 386 system?

Red herring. While it certainly is possible to install Linux on a 386 system it isn't feasible. I have Red Hat 6.0 running on a 486-75 with 24 meg of RAM and it is just barely usable in command line mode. Anyone who claims otherwise is blowing smoke.
