Jenna: Wanna avoid the profits you lost today 'cause of the phone calls? I've given this a lotta thought; called a few friends for their ideas. The answer: unplug you phone, walk gently to your pool and toss the damn thing as hard as you can into the deep-end. If it rises to the surface (never underestimate the clever folks at the phone companies), take the dripping thing, walk gently to your driveway, place the offending instrument behind your right rear tire, enter your vehicle, turn the key, enter "Reverse", and hit the gas boobeleh, hit it.
