Good Afternoon Ed,
For the first time in quite a long while I was impressed with the strength in Dell's stock performance today along with heavy volume. I also was impressed with the following and sorry if it was already posted
Dell Computer's Wealthy CEO Says No Plan To Retire
AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) - Michael Dell, the founder and chief executive of Dell Computer Corp. (Nasdaq:DELL - news), said Wednesday he had no plans to retire even though, at the age of 34, he was a billionaire many times over.
Dell, speaking to reporters at the Dell DirectConnect conference in Austin, said he was still working because he liked his job as head of the No. 2-ranked personal computer maker, not because he needed the money.
''If I was in it for the money, I certainly could have retired a long time ago,'' he said.
Dell was paid $109 million last year, including $105 million in stock options, by the company he founded in his University of Texas dormitory room in 1984. His personal fortune is said to be $15 billion.
Dell said part of what motivates him to keep working is that he enjoyed seeing Round Rock, Texas-based Dell and the computer industry as a whole grow and bring change to society.
''I think we are truly making a contribution to the way our society operates,'' he said.
Besides, Dell added, ''It also happens to be a tremendous amount of fun. I have the greatest job in the world.''
When asked how long he intended to run Dell Computer, he said, ''Many years.''
Now maybe we will see this tiger pass the old high . The lehman Bros. upgrade also did not hurt
