I can see a possible settlement with SUNW, but not DOJ. DOJ will continue on for years. As time goes by, I'm finding I care less and less what Jackson rules. Chances are he rules against MSFT and the stock drops 15% in kneejerk fashion. I really don't see the drop sticking for more than a quarter, though. With my investment timeframes (currently about 2 years for MSFT) this is not worth avoiding. With the increasing relevance of PC-ish technology in the mainstream, the growing presence in the high end, and so many cash cows rocking, I think the upside still far outweighs the risk.
