It would be totally in line with their multiple other joint ventures around the world. The partnership interests would probably be divided right down the line based upon relative percentages of customers in their current respective networks in the US. I hope it's a go. Perhaps explains a bit of the 7 dollar jump today.

It would be bigger. The US market has had slower cellular penetration rates relative to Europe and US market is much bigger. It would obviously save Vodafone Airtouch billions of dollars. It would create a US national footprint that no other company in the US currently has. It would be a blockbuster deal. (Does my excitement show through?)

I believe the seven dollar jump was primarily caused by a Goldman Sachs reiterative buy this morning.
