Just a word on Earnings Plays: MDT and RSC were up about 3.3 and 5% today. Not earthshaking I know. But what do I 'file away' other instances where earnings play can be played after earnings without a morning gap up 1) MDT obviously did not offer any positive anticipation yesterday, but had the nasdaq suffered today, you can be sure MDT still would have given the 3.3%.. without a gap up

2) RSC again is coming to life before earnings. Another 'earnings play factoid' to remember. RSC was unremarkable the last few days, and as a very strong stock it is, you can see it reached a new 52 week high today up about 5.5%.. Again not earth moving, but say we had a down market and no choices, RSC most probably would still have been up.
