Not really... after-hours trading on Island seems to be mostly a waste of time - except maybe once-or-twice a year, <ggg> Of course, pre-market trading would be a benefit to Datek Online customers... that's why Mrs' Stern and Nicoll indicated pre-market trading for Datek customers in about 3 weeks(months?)... immediately after the markets reopen after Labor Day? Going by the past track record of Datek's "The Check Book is in the Mail!" - when in 2001 will pre-market trading ever happen?

As flaky as Datek Online retail servers are... the only time you can find a server to ENTER or CANCEL an order is in PRE or POST-market hours anyway. <ggg> Forget trying to use Datek in the first or last regular market hours... after all, the daily trading volume is SOOO HUMUNGUS in the last 2 weeks of August!

Even if you are fortunate enough to find a server that works long enough to complete login and order entry, once a limit order is on Island and the NBBO - all market makers just use your NBBO order as a PRICE and SIZE to trade over, around, under, through, and every other trick in the book , NOT to execute the NBBO! - you usually are NOT preferenced,- only as a last-resort, and then just a partial fill anyway.

Oh well, maybe Datek can recruit some more suckers with pre-market trading... just like the amazingly successful post-market rush! <ggg> And not to forget, Datek Online uses the premiere ECN on the Internet... the mother-of-all-ECNs, and the greatest boon to retail investors since Sir Thomas' Crapper!

JUST KIDING... Datek is "The Best" the Net has to offer....... Thank Arty and the SEC.
