Now, let us see if we can cure the inadequacies of the first description: When I say that it is huge, I mean that it is about the size of a U- Haul truck. When I say that the elephant has a nose like a large snake, I could also compare it to a tail on a monkey, since the elephant can use is to grab things, and to a big hose, the kind that firemen use. It is several feet long. When I say "leathery flags", I mean that they are large, pretty thin, and flap around some, and that they resemble not shoe leather, but perhaps canvas, or something like that. When I call the tusks massive, I should make clear that they are shorter than the nose, and that they come out of the upper gums....Does that help to clarify the issue I meant to raise? |
