Evening trading begins with trickle NEW YORK (AP) - Trading began with a trickle Wednesday in what amounted to the first real evening session ever held for individual investors on the East Coast and the first real afternoon session for those on the West Coast. The new session from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time or 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time is being offered Monday through Thursday for customers of Discover Brokerage and Dreyfus Brokerage Services on an electronic exchange named MarketXT. A total of 142 orders were executed during Wednesday's two-hour session, with about $3.5 million worth of stock changing hands overall. However, there was insufficient volume to match up most buyers and sellers, with more than 1,000 orders going unfilled.
