So you prefer GNOME. Well, that is what Red Hat is betting the farm on. But you certainly don't know much about anything else. One of the reasons Linux is a threat is because of it's small footprint, and not it's glamorous gui. But you wouldn't see that would you. No, you prefer to dream that Linux will replace Windows on every desktop PC in the world. And btw, what makes you think you can't get that resolution in CE? CE even has a web server, you know.
OK Tom. I suppose you are a forward looking person, having read the above paragraph. You know that all the competition is over pcs devices, rght? OK your little handheld phone is going to be the essential device in yours, mine, and everyone else's life in a few years. Voice Recognition, Language Input Editor's, and other things will be some of the obvious major software bonanzas. But there is a little war going on behind the scenes as to what kind of os this pcs will be running. And with java almost officially out of the picture now, (as an OS), it is basically between Windows and Linux.
As for your impudence, I will only say that using a limited gui is much the same as paying 2 grand for a calculator, except that the calculator probably has a few more built-in features. |
