Revised Q2 GDP = +1.8%
bea.doc.gov Real GDP (revised): Real GDP is now estimated to have increased 1.8 percent in the second quarter of 1999, 0.5 percentage point less than the advance estimate of 2.3 percent. Real GDP increased 4.3 percent in the first quarter.
Prices (revised): The chain-type price index for gross domestic purchases increased 2.1 percent in the second quarter, the same as in the advance estimate, after increasing 1.2 percent in the first. Excluding food and energy prices, which are normally more volatile than many other prices, the price index increased 1.4 percent, after increasing 1.3 percent.
Weekly Jobless Claims = - 5k to 283k
dol.gov In the week ending Aug. 21, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 283,000, a decrease of 5,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 288,000. The 4-week moving average was 283,750, an increase of 2,250 from the previous week's revised average of 281,500. |
