Venus had been in the army and had gone AWOL from his base undetected. He confided this to others at the station and I think turned himself in, but I don't remember what happened to him. I was not a WKRP fan, just happen to recall this episode...kinda "pulling a Homer" on this one :-) I do remember someone quipping that every time WKRP gained in the ratings, Little House on the Prarie (same time slot) got more melodramatic. "WKRP's numbers are up! Quick, Laura's big sister goes blind!" :-) You got me on Waters' cameo. I can't remember any more cameo roles.
