PERHAPS this could be brought to SI's attention.

Instead of deleting posts, they should move the posts to a special thread and re-assign the necessary pointers

or perhaps leave them.

I saw one of the posts before it got deleted, and I saw nothing worthy of being deleted.

It had no bad language, no name calling...
