keep in mind that platinum members on etrade now get a private line into etrade (never had to wait more than 30seconds to get someone live as opposed to 5 minutes or longer for the normal customer).. also i get preferred IPO share allocations and trade commissions are half price.. $10/trade instead of $20 this just started.. the new commissions for us starts september but you have to do 75trades or more per quarter to qualify.. so only for active traders... i do that in a week.. so no problem there.. but unless you're doing this much business i wouldn't use them either.. too many outages and regular customer service isn't very good... jim
