well - 'guru' is a little overkill - lets just say 'informed investor'. btw, been a little busy to really delve into Abrizio, but from what I've seen so far, its really an exciting addition to PMC. This takes them into a completely new space - one that is obviously garnering a LOT of attention these days (core tbp routing). As I initially stated, they have developed algorithms that simply the switching problems created by routing tbps of data at wirespeed (OC-48 and 192). They have basically worked out a system that solves the Input-queued FIFO HOL (First in First Out, Head of line) problem in a more efficient manner than previous solutions. There are a lot of problems with matching the inputs with the outputs, scheduling packets through the fabric, arbitrating requests, and maximizing throughput. I think I know who some early customers may be - we'll see if I'm eventually right. Neat stuff actually!! BD
