Pokemon -
I'm buying all the TOPP I can. I really can't say which Pokemon stocks are going to do what or if blankety blank stock is solid, but I will say with all the authority of the mother of a 7-year old that Pokemon is not going away next week. I'm finding that most traders and investors in these P-stocks haven't checked out the Pokemon phenomenon deeply enough. These are not just characters but have a lot of complexity to them, quite reminiscent of the Dungeons and Dragons successes of the eighties. Buy a pack of cards and look. 150 different characters, last I knew, and they morph into different characters with different attributes, "hit points," etc. These have a special appeal to brighter kids, so parents are going to encourage the kid to turn off the computer and go play with his bright-kid toy, because we ALL know how bright OUR kid is. Really, I'm not kidding.
The guys who came up with all this were pretty clever.
We were lucky with KIDE but out too soon. Same with GRIN. Just plain lucky with DVUI. Then we settled on TOPP. As of today, I'm down a good bit, but I think next to expensive KIDE, this is the most solid. The WSJ hurt us all, but the effect was too random. People just balked and fled. TOPP wasn't hurt as badly as the others because it has a large float (the reason, probably, we haven't had a real run either). But I think we can look forward to astonishing revenues from the cards.
Anyone got one with a name something like Charzoid to trade? I'll throw in a Pokemon t-shirt.
