RE: <Samsung: edtn.com;

Unclewest, this Samsung article is mostly unfavorable to Rambus. You quoted the only part that is favorable. But what about this:

<<Lee said in an interview at Samsung's chip headquarters here that customers only want 700- and 800-MHz Rambus chips. He said a few OEMs might take the lower-performance 600-MHz version if that were the only Rambus chip available. Yet he believes most are waiting for the higher-speed chips.

Lee supported doubts expressed by some analysts that the 700- and 800-MHz Direct RDRAM types will be production-ready by Intel's target September date. He believes September might be too soon for yields of these higher-speed Direct RDRAM versions to reach mass production levels. "By the end of the year, [Direct Rambus] speed may move to 700 MHz and [Samsung's] production will be more than 1 million units," he said.
>>

If this guy is right then Intel and Rambus will have big problem from September through the end of the year as drdrams are not available in volume at full speed.

However, this article is dated June 15 so maybe the true situation is more favorable to Rambus now. Still no Intel preannouncement on PC133 before IDF. So maybe there won't be any PC133 support after all.
