Those are some interesting viewpoints!

If the business logic was left to the client, there is not much processing to be done on the server outside of authentication and file serving. This is why it is impractical to use GUI only client applets, it requires enormous amounts of horsepower for public use (which is good for Sun of course).

Your second point is already being built into or NuoMedia model.
