Good deduction! The writer of "Mandy," Scott English, had a regional hit with it as "Brandy" (I think in 1972, so there were probably a lot of radio station personnel who dismissed it thinking it was the same song as Looking Glass's from a few months prior) before Manilow changed it. Looking Glass's follow-up was "Jimmy Loves Mary-Anne," and the same song was Josie Cotton's final single (at least that anyone ever heard of).
