LiveStage Pro shipping early to QuickTime developers Staff Report, email@maccentral.com August 27, 1999, 7:00 am ET
Apple's recent announcement that they will be hosting the first-ever QuickTime Live! Conference, Nov. 8-11, at the Los Angeles Convention Center is welcome news to Totally Hip Software and other QuickTime tool developers.
"We are very excited about Apple's recent announcement of the QuickTime Live! Conference," said Randall H. McCallum, CEO and founder of Totally Hip in a press release. "The growing adoption of QuickTime and Apple's efforts to promote it, is definitely making it easier for Totally Hip and all other QuickTime developers to the deliver their tool solution message to customers. Since MacWorld New York, we have seen many QuickTime developers migrate to LiveStage Professional to author their interactive digital media content. Especially the QuickTime TV developers."
McCallum says Totally Hip is now selling a pre-release version of LiveStage to QuickTime developers due to demand. He adds that developers are now adopting QuickTime for digital content delivery, a "very strong" indicator that Apple is getting the QuickTime message out to the right audience. When Totally Hip officially releases LiveStage Pro next month, developers will be pleasantly surprised to see many innovative features since MacWorld New York, McCallum says.
"The addition of sprite Behaviors is getting huge reaction from our beat testers," he explains. "Reseller requests have also picked up considerably in the past month, and shortly after Apple announced the conference we have seen more calls come in from resellers requesting product information. We expect an excellent response during the launch in September, and look forward to QuickTime Live! Conference."
The QuickTime Live! Conference will feature keynotes, full-day workshops, breakout sessions and a product showcase featuring the latest development tools based on QuickTime technology, the industry standard for digital media creation and video and audio streaming.
David Dicaire, COO and general manager of Totally Hip says there will be a full day workshop on LiveStage Professional during the QuickTime Live! Conference. He expects Totally Hip's booth to be packed with QuickTime developers. LiveStage Pro session attendees will also receive a number of new LiveStage Pro Behavior libraries that will be created especially for the conference attendees.
