Concerning costs of Y2K being reflected in 4th qtr reporting, if companies haven't already made the investments to be Y2K compliant by this point, they are likely in trouble.

I feel that the fear is more than the reality -actual impacts are likely to be minor in this country, but there is so much mis-information and paranoia that there could be a drop based just upon that. My retirement fund at work has only three choices, fixed interest, S&P 500 index, or a bond index fund, and my money in that will be in a fixed rate until near the end of Dec, and then probably back into the S&P500.
