Thai military to shut down computers to avoid Y2K bug

The Thai military will shut down some computer-controlled
systems Dec. 31 to ensure they will not malfunction because of Year
2000 (Y2K) millennium bug, a senior military official said Friday.
'We will definitely turn off some computer-controlled equipment
a few minutes ahead of midnight of the last day of the 99th year of
this century and restart only when we have crossed into the new
millennium,' said Maj. Gen. Kharavuth Khemayodhin, director of the
Military Information Department.
