I would like to go over what I do as the market opens...

On my Level I quotes, I try to group our gainers together with the first day news stocks all in the same bunch that have good volume prior to the market open.

I then try my best to separate the 2nd day gainers based on pre-market volume and gapping with those that have the best volume and gapping in the direction of the first day gainers. They will most likely be the ones with more momentum on the day.

The 2nd day gainers that are gapping in the opposite direction or neutral and that also have pre-market volume I place in the weak
stock groups.

If the market is nervous and gaps seem to be disappearing I will consider open shorts on the weak group first. I will also look for big gaps UP for open shorts that seem to be above the average strong gapping stocks. In a very strong market that can run I will ignore almost all open shorts.
