Dear Anthony@Pacific Fans:
I am confident that this post will not win me any popularity points, so let me address the matter straight away. I am writing this message to let you know that we have terminated Anthony@Pacific's Silicon Investor membership for violating the SI Terms of Use. As a matter of policy, we do not discuss any type of member account specifics, so I will not provide any details here, nor will we answer any questions received via e-mail regarding this matter.
In fact, the only reason that I am posting this message is because Anthony@Pacific has clearly been a popular and prolific contributor to SI. I am sure that he will be missed. In many respects, this made it an extremely difficult decision, one that we discussed thoroughly at all levels. We understand that by taking this action, many of you will be upset, although that is clearly not our intent. It is our sincere hope that all of you will continue to enjoy and participate in the SI community.
In fact, in the end, it was our dedication and our obligation to the community that had to be our primary focus. The SI Terms of Use have served us and the community well, and we enforce them as effectively and consistently as is humanly possible. If we were ever tempted to make an exception, this would have been the case, but ultimately such an exception would threaten the integrity of Silicon Investor - and we simply could not, in good conscience, allow that to happen. The bottom line is that true integrity has no price tag.
Whether or not you agree with or approve of our decision in this matter, we hope that you will - at least - respect it.
We wish Anthony well in all his future endeavors.
Sincerely,
Bryan A. Burdick Managing Director Silicon Investor |
