Howdy Techride Pals!! I'm around this weekend getting ready for "Fergie" jaunt and enjoyed reading all your posts...Class A stocktalk soultalk and entertainment business as usual....bookmarked the Wiley E. Coyote Rockets from Hansi; glad to see Fred got SETI before even knowing it's been The Official Techride Screensaver for awhile (I love my SETI cyber version of "Growing Crystals In A Jar" it's another Internet Money Saver... I've spent mucho money on these crystal-growing kits in my lifetime lemmetellya); TLC's Science Experiment Results had me ROFL, thanks Carolyn, and all the other good ones...helping each other make it possible to deal with the dull work of researching and watching investments turns a drab day into enjoyment. Thank you all.
A brief mention of stocks...Blue, that link about the evolving of portals is a THINKER, Thanks....hey Looky this fits in - my pet MSGI is #1 on SI Hot List...I recently increased/averaged down....(still on a freeride with profits bought it back from itself...Bought @ 3 5/8 late last year and rode a rocket to 60...it's not a hypenet either, it's one of Dotcom's Own Low-Flying Real McCoys.
Now @ 15 1/2, news and excitement around it again).
Now for important talk about Pets....
Joe, your post about the "Sam" pup really got me thinking. I read it not two hours after getting our lovely Ocicat Tigerlily from boarding where we got her (nice folks, they board the customers animals on request and the cat likes it there so we leave her with them when we go away). After picking her up, on the ride home we talked about maybe spaying her instead of breeding her. Because some of the same kittens in the shop have been there awhile and they're getting bigger. We were wondering what happens to these beautiful kittens when they get too big to sell? Some of them are already 5 months old! We couldn't bear having kittens of ours euthanized; and I can't start collecting cats! So now we're thinking about spaying our lovely pedigreed Ocicat Tigerlily now and rescuing a kitten that's already born instead of breeding her to a matched mate and keeping her favorite kitten as we'd planned. Today we grokked we'd be taking a chance with the lives of the others by doing so. Our cat is so friendly and gentle she'd make a great mother...and we had figured it'd be easy to find homes for beautiful registered pedigree kittens sold at a cheap price. But what if we can't find them homes or if the kittens don't find homes from the pet store and start getting big? We saw such beautiful sweet cats there who have been there awhile. Maybe the only difference between the fancy store and the pound is the cost of adopting one.
So my daughter and I were talking about maybe it'd be taking an awful chance to let her have kittens....talked about maybe it's better to get a kitten already living for Tigerlily to play with (not necessarily another pedigree, just the first one that touches our hearts) instead of adding more to the competition for homes...just today we were saying this. Then reading this post of yours on the board, Joe... really timely and a reality check. Finding someone who wants to take on responsibility for a pet... no matter if the pet comes from a pound or it's a fullbred beauty with papers for cheap... finding them homes might not be so easy when the time comes.
Looks like we probably won't be taking such a chance.
This all goes along with an Omen (I don't think it's a stock omen...the meaning looks pretty fulfilled here) which happened last night on the way back to our motel...
By the side of the dark highway, we passed by a basket. Started thinking, better go back and look in it, what if it's kittens or puppies or even maybe a baby. So we turned back around and checked it out; and were very relieved to see that it was empty.
909s,
Joan
