Cobalt:

This is the introductory sentence from your first post......

Richard, curious as to where you got the information on the patent application. The USPTO web site says that patent application data is confidential.

If you don't consider that to be confrontational, so be it. If you don't see the inconsistency between claiming expertise in the patent field and not knowing where that abstract came from, then so be it.

Your questions beyond the initial confrontation also implied relevant expertise......

even that's going to be hard to patent.

Even what is going to be difficult to patent? Do you know anything about the uniqueness of the conditioning regimen used by Sykes et al.?

Please tell us what it is, specifically, that is going to be difficult to patent.

There are two issues.... graft versus host incidental to conditioning for organ transplant, where you want a close donor match, and graft versus leukemia (and other malignancies), where you want some degree of HLA mismatch. The aim is certainly to transition the organ transplant studies to stronger incompatibilities, but if you expect some doc to go on NPR and say that this procedure is ready for kidney prime time with unrelated donors, you're nuts.

I have no "uncertainty as to whether the procedure [is] limited to persons with similar HLA or not." I know exactly when there should be incompatibilities, and I clearly see what is being done to deal with the potential toxicities.

If you have questions that can be posed without confrontation and without the smug stance of expert, please, I welcome them.

Rick
