Michael P. WOW!!After reading posts for Thur/Fri, I conclude we on this thread have been protected from an onslaught of misstatements by ignorant and missinformed investors and lurkers by our monthly SI fees. Even MikeMargin, who devotes much time to despensing truth and wisdom on YAHOO is grossed out. The subject is, like the subject of many of the tech stocks changing our world, just too complex, detailed and technical for most investors to easily grasp and believe. Even the so called experts--the buy side analysts, are cautious and confused---taking great care to make sure that any supprises to the customers of their brokerage firms are positive ones.
What this means to me is that, assuming we visionaries on this thread have it right, there will at some point in time be a heard of average investors stampedeing to Q with all the fervor of a religeous conversion. People believe what they want to believe to a large extent and, because of that, much of the value of a stock is actually created in the market place. Give me two quarters of 30% quarter to quarter earnings growth without pro formas and one time write offs to confuse investors, and the fervor will build. I think this will occur between Sept and February, but, who really knows what random market factors will moderate the stock price S-curve. In the meantime, we true believers best get fully invested B4 the 9/30/99 Q earnings report comes out in mid-October. JohnG |
