It doesn't matter than win95 'sucks' (I agree, inasmuch as it is unstable), because the competition to SGI is Windows NT (on both Intel and Alpha). The fact that the PC market is saturating has little to do with competing with SGI -- SGI's real competition is cheap NT workstations, not the low-end retail PCs. There may be reasons why SGI can hold on to much of their market, but I don't think win95 instability or a "saturating" PC market are among them. JMHO.
