Well, you're shooting the "EXTREME" conspiracy theory I've been contemplating. If the Hedge funds (lately I've been hearing the phrase used in terms of Barrick also) HAD been shorting GOLD into the market in anticipation of all the Gold, that had been and would be, found in Kalimantan before the Bre-ex implosion, they may have found themselves in an undesirable position when this (what) possiby 100's of millions of ounces of future supply evaporated). Meanwhile Asia was booming, wealth being created in a world where wealth means gold accumulation. YOUSA! Whoops!. We have to cover and run the price up at big losses, or we have to continue shorting, get supply by central bank leasing, they won't want gold taking off too much either (no problem), and we can still make money! "Hey fellow Hedgers", lets all pull our money out of Asia, short the Asian market, reduce gold demand, get them to sell off what they do possess and this could turn out very, very profitable. NOW THERE'S A CONSPIRACY THEORY! Or, some Saturday morning humour, depending on your mindset. Thanks Searle appreciate your taking the time-mike |
