SM and thread,

In this week's Barron's, there is "An Interview with Clifford W. Henry ~ The founder and chief investment officer of Worthington Growth, a New York-based hedge fund"

Henry rates NITE a sell. While his views were stated before the MER-NITE deal (given the price he noted), this could have some negative effect early next week. Here is what he said (for posterity):

Knight/Trimark Securities is a market maker for online brokers. Their trading volume is declining. I think this is more than a temporary pause. Sure, day-trading on the Internet won't disappear, but the velocity and fervor seen in the past six months will be more subdued. From 30, I think Knight goes to 20.

For what it is worth, I think the guy is wrong insofar as (1) we've already been punished for the flattening out of OLB trading and (2) there is much in the pipeline OUTSIDE of OLB equity volume (institutional, international and ISE to name three).

P.S. According to NITE's web-site, it is scheduled to begin some sort of advertising campaign.
