Gentlemen:

All this talk of Cramer is much more than the man deserves. He obviously has a knack of leaving an impression upon those he comes in virtual contact with. The man is successful regardless of what you think of him. I think the main point here is that his comments on ORCL are not necessarily of value. He is just another talking head.

What distinguishes Cramer, however, from the other so-called "analysts" we see on the tube is that Cramer is a position trader rather than a money manager or research analyst with a longer perspective on a stock. For that reason I would not necessarily place much weight, if any, on his opinion on any stock over the longer term. From a shorter term perspective he is expected to talk-up a stock he long & talk-down a stock he is short. So what value is this? All he has to say really, "I'm long this" or "I am short that." So, for the short-term guys here, you can follow his lead & you can bet against him & establish the other side of his trade. But for those with a slight longer term perspective, IMHO, you can just tune Cramer out. He won't mind.

Now can we go back to discussing ORCL. Cramer has his own thread on SI.

JMO.
