One thing I thought I heard Bob say today was that a possible bear might be similar in some characteristics to the 1976 bear with additional details possibly being discussed in the Sept newsletter. I don't have many details from 1976 but from what I do have the drop was about 26% over 14 months and started right at the end of the year. I would also note that sentiment Bull/(bulls+bears) I believe reached a reading of 90% bullish at the start, a reading we're obviously not going to come close to if a bear starts in the next month or two. Of course at the top in 1976 I'm sure valuations weren't at 27X earnings since we started to set new records in this bull once we got around the mid 20's I believe. Looking at my calendar I see the August employment report and CIBCR should be out on Friday September 3rd so that data and other end of month data will be figured in for the September newsletter. Should be a very interesting issue Marc
