It put Nintendo back in the game (pun intended!) with the N64... so much so that other game-machine makers followed suit as soon as they could (much longer life cycles for game systems than for PCs). And Berkeley and Brocade seem to be doing nicely with their bets... it's just a matter of which applications truly are hitting the wall. This is hardly and all-or-nothing proposition...
