That has been the problem for several elections. And note that Republicans have lost for several elections because our candidates have hovered off at the far right end of the political spectrum rather than somewhere near the vast majority of voters. As long as we keep putting up such candidates people like us will put our votes elsewhere or not vote. Either way that makes for losses not victories.

By the way, it is not just my family. I love to talk politics and I bet I have encountered over a hundred other registered Republicans who have the same problem with the candidates we have put up the past few years. In the end they have voted for Perot, for Clinton or not voted. What matters is that they did not vote for Dole and they did not vote for Mr. Read My Lips.

As a party we should ignore the far right: where are they going to go ... vote for Gore? Not. Lets go for the majority of voters and get serious about winning.
