More thoughts on TOPP
(Copying a post I made on Raging Bull):
Something is concerning me. I just got back from a trip to Books-a-Million. In my mid-size smallish city, it is one of the largest stores, and I posted earlier about a "meeting" they hold on Saturday mornings for Pokemon fans to play and trade cards. We missed it this morning, but I wondered how it went, already knowing that many (about 125) kids showed up. BUT - Books-a-Million has no TOPP products. They have everything under the sun to do with Pokemon - cards, calendars, stickers, books (NOT GBFE), etc. but not only don't they have any TOPP cards, the man at customer service explained to me that Pokemon was a trademark and they carried the only one allowed (Wizard) blah-blah-blah. I am afraid that I got a bit sharp as I explained that I had bought TOPP cards this morning, but his lack of knowledge that there WERE any TOPP cards, mixed with this being "THE" Pokemon local hangout, concerns me.
Is our company doing its PR work well enough? I think by the LATEST, a PR should be out Monday morning before the bell, announcing the distribution of the TOPP cards. And they need to do something about their distribution, when the head store in town doesn't know about them.
Anyone out there inclined towards calling the company? It appears to this untrained eye that maybe a fire should be lit under something.
