| Open Text Acquires PSSoftware 
 Open Text Broadens Document Management Capabilities with Records Management Pioneer
 
 Waterloo, on. ? August 26, 1999 ? Open Text Corporation (NASDAQ:OTEX; TSE:OTC) today announced it has acquired all of the shares in PSSoftware© Solutions Ltd. (PSS). PSSoftware, located in Ottawa, is one of the original records management companies.
 
 "The agreement with PSSoftware will broaden our document management capability by providing Livelink© users with more advanced records management, for full life cycle management of electronic documents," says Tom Jenkins, Chief Executive Officer of Open Text Corporation. "With this acquisition, we are pleased to join the Canadian Government?s RDIMS project specifications through PSS. We believe Livelink will bring significant enhancements to this application, as well as other applications presently delivered by PSS to its customers."

 As part of the merger, Open Text will create a records management division led by David Gibbard.
