Frank I agree with most of what you say but I believe the above more serious. The way I understand it Mr. Greenspan doesn't give a hoot what we "PAY" for a stock he is rather interested in what we own -our assets! For instance the way I understand it even if you overpaid for stocks and your assets are down Mr. Greenspan want's to count those assets as a measurement or tool for him to bump rates up as high as he sees fit -and here is where it is at it's worst- JUST TO LOWER THOSE ASSETS AT THE BEHEST OF ECONOMIC SECURITY...NOT OURS BUT THE GOVERNMENT'S.

IMO that's like having the power to levy additional taxes without calling it a tax or negotiating it or anything else other than Greenspan economics! Let us not forget that they lowered the capital gains tax and here is where they plan to take it back! Tax reform baby! They give with one hand and take back with both hands. Have you every known it to be otherwise?
