Yes, he has a legitimate claim. There was an old article back in Feb. about a teenager, I believe, who registered www.appleimac.com. Or something along those lines.

The final decision if I remember was that if you registered a domain name after it had a copyright they have the rights to it. However, if you buy a name like www.ecommerce-r-us.com and someone decides to open a company under that name they need to buy it from them. That case happened with Altavista I believe. Ended up paying about $3 mil. for it.

www.drugs.com also went for a nice sum of money. Over a million last time I checked.
