I think that article is one of the most significant I've read all year. Why? Because it is one for the Skeptics and the Scoffers. Not only does it indicate how much more time-consuming and money-consuming the Y2K problem turned out to be for Northwest -- how much more, in a word, real. But there's something more specific, too, in that story that speaks directly to the concerns of a lot of Y2K Doubters: they don't understand how this or that device could possibly be affected by the date.

You wouldn't have been happy with the rest of the article.
