Bill, thanks, Dave, thanks.
In re Russia, it's interesting that rumors were swirling late last week that Murmansk and Dudinka had frozen up, but British weather service was saying minimum temp was 2 Celsius. My guess is that something is screwing up delivery from Dudinka and Russians are floating a rumor that it's ice [because you can fix that problem with an icebreaker]
Dave, as the old saying goes, just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they are not after you. In regards to content, at one point someone posted on this thread that we should not be discussing laterites here, but rather we should discuss them on an Inco thread. CDI told me in May that the AIDS pandemic in Zambia was not an appropriate object of discussion at a cobalt conference, but should be discussed at a copper conference. If you follow Aurum's posts, our little CMR thread is getting referenced on other threads as being a source of info, so I'll just keep posting. INCO's board is free to read.
Interestingly, if you follow Aurum's thread, some outfit in Australia asked how VB was going, and questioned whether it was bogged down in corruption, bribery, native claims and environmental issues. I wasn't sure if this was meant to be taken on the face of it, or if it were parody of the Australian situation. Anybody have thoughts on this?
I found the book on Amazon: Robert Friedland, Inco, and the VB shuffle. Will let you know when I get it.
Have some hard numbers out of Rolls Royce and Zambia, will post shortly. |
