David; re: Windows CE real time capability?

"I wouldn't say that I'd feel comfortable in flying on a fly-by-wire jet running on Windows CE."
- Jon Magill, director of marketing, Microsoft consumer-appliance group

as quoted by Alexander Wolfe and Junko Yoshida, in EE times article: Windows CE tuned for embedded OS, multimedia thrust; March 17, 1997, Issue:945
eetimes.com

Where response times must be guaranteeded, developers will use a hard RTOS, such as VXworks, pSOS or OS-9. Windows CE is not a hard RTOS and never will be.
