Wayne and all pony fans, Great Travers yesterday, but I'm sure glad I didn't bet it. Had I bet it, I would have taken a trifecta of Menifee and Cat Thief over those two plus Unbridled Jet and adding Lemon Drop Kid with that batch in the third slot. That would have netted me a negative $16 ticket. <g> I have always liked Lemon Drop Kid, but I didn't think he was consistent enough to take on Menifee or Cat Thief, even though he beat them in The Belmont. Wrong! Vision and Verse I didn't consider to be in this league. Wrong again. And Cat Thief and Unbridled Jet were duds, while Menifee took an uninspired show. But it was fun to watch. Wish I could say the same about the Pacific Classic, but all of the older horses have gone to sick bay or stud heaven.
