Biogen Appoints Kees Been Vice President, Business & Market Development CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Biogen, Inc. (Nasdaq: BGEN - news) today announced that Kees Been has been appointed Vice President, Business & Market Development, a new position. Mr. Been reports to Jim Vincent, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Been joins Biogen from Monsanto Life Sciences, where he was employed since 1996 in a variety of capacities, including Vice President-Strategic Change, Vice President-Knowledge Management and, most recently, Vice President-Global Strategy. From 1988-1995, he was employed by Gemini Consulting. He began his career in 1983 as a scientist and trade and licensing manager with Biogen, based in Geneva, Switzerland.
Mr. Vincent said, ''It is a pleasure to welcome Kees Been back home to Biogen. He has a broad range of outstanding experience that will enable him to provide critical strategic leadership in our business development operation as we evaluate our internal and external opportunities for future growth.''
Mr. Been received a M.S. in Biotechnology from the University of Agriculture in The Netherlands in 1983 and a M.B.A. from INSEAD in France in 1985.
