Believe me cable is the way to go.

Well, I hear many different opinions on this matter. People apparently have not similar and often polar experience with cable, and At Home has been named as the least reliable by most of cable users. Nonetheless, comparison of connection options was not the point - we were talking about the role different components of trading play. Believe me, many guys with cable or ADSL left trading (and not because they got undecently rich and retired) while many trade successfully with 56K or ISDN. I would say, there is some minimum required that is "necessary and enough". Everything above it is nice but should be added only if it doesn't involve additional money/time/efforts investments and/or if success has been reached with simple equipment. If one can't make it with 18,8K modem, he should switch to 56K because 18,8 is under "necessary and enough" limit. But if he can't make it with 56K, I don't think he should switch to cable - my bet would be, it won't help.
