That isn't the issue(at least not the only issue). Most people understand what BC did was morally reprehensible. What these same people also realize is the issue is that many members of the Republican party were very quick to point out that very fact, while seemingly having very similar "lifestyle" failings of their very own.

If they felt that BC was unfit for office, they now are seemingly in that very same 'penalty box". The problem that everyone seemingly now has, is that liberals who excused that behaviuor for BC should do the same for Repubs in the same predicament, and Repubs who wanted BC out, should hold themselves to the same standard.

Politics being what they are, both sides will try to spin their way out of previously adamant positions.
