Hi Dan:

You and I agree on one thing. We vote our convictions!

The problem is that for three elections running the Republicans have lost, and I feel very strongly that we have done so 100% on the prolife issue.

"generally the ones you hang around with are birds of a
feather"

Very true: and those Republican birds are not voting Republican. And without them Democrats win! Why?

"Funny , the very same folks that say they want the Feds to take care of all the school kids better and more daycare and etc etc, are the very ones saying no one should fight for the rights of the unborn. Wonder why that is?"

Just as funny: the same very conservative prolife right wing of the party are those who are cutting the daylights out of the budget for programs to support the already born. <vbg>.

"BTW, if I vote my belief, I never feel as if I have lost."

There we agree 100% and that is the wonder of our Constitution.

"America's morals are as low as they have ever been"

There we do not agree. I am an American Studies graduate and there have been scandals throughout our history and practically every other history that ever happened ... Popes to Dictators ... Cleopatra to Clinton. Who was that drunken Senator caught floundering in a Washington fountain with a call girl circa 1965? What was that vicuna coat flap in the Eisenhower administration. Who were Roosevelt's mistresses? Teapot dome? Robber Barons? President Grant was eternally drunk. Jefferson seems to have had some side show going on. Washington was notorious. Even our founding Pilgrims had their share of scallywags. Clinton is nothing new: just the exposure he has gotten. And religion has nothing to do with this as religious attendance is at or near an all time high these days just when many are wringing their hands that we lack religious activities ... heck even Clinton goes to church regularly.

This is not to say that I condone any of this, but I certainly am not lining up to overturn our government based on the present bunch of schmucks. Our schmucks may be a wee bit better than their schmucks, but we will never find out if we keep loosing elections.

Enjoy what's left of your week-end.

Regards,

Floyd
